Variations of the Sternal Muscle

Abstract
Case I
These muscles were 21.8cm long and 3.3cm wide and located on both sides. They arose from the tendon of the opposite sternocleidomastoid muscles on the manubrium between first and second ribs.
They terminated on the aponeuroses of rectus abdominis muscles and external oblique¢¥ abdominal muscles on same sides at the level between 7th and 8th ribs. They formed a diamond shape on chest.
Case II
This muscle was located on the right side of sternum and run obliquely and inferolaterally.
It was 9.9cm long and 2.5cm wide.
It arose from the sternal border between 2nd and 3rd ribs and terminated on the 6th ribs.
